We traded our London terraced home for an 80-acre nature reserve in Wales
""We just kept on getting drawn over the bridge [to Wales],""
""Every opportunity we could dash out of London in our campervan and come west, we would.""
""It's a very special place.""
""It was kind of our way of changing our pace of life, having something a bit more gentle for the kids, living closer to nature.""
Adam and Lou left a busy London life with young children to pursue a slower, nature-focused lifestyle in rural Carmarthenshire. Adam grew up in Norfolk and worked as a sound engineer; Lou was born in the Netherlands and worked in arts education. The couple bonded over camping and outdoor activities and purchased an 80-acre site which they developed over 14 years into an award-winning sustainable glamping retreat and nature reserve. Everything on the site was built from scratch, the hills are shared with Exmoor ponies, and local neighbours welcomed and helped them settle in.
