We must not let the memory and value of solidarity with refugees be erased

When I think of the solidarity that flourished during those days, I see outstretched hands along the shores of Lesbos.
Countless moving stories emerged of locals helping with whatever they could, carrying food, clothes, and blankets from their homes to feed and dress the newcomers.
The island was transformed - its streets and squares filled with locals and newcomers mingling, a scene of human connection and shared humanity.
