Tens of thousands of Vodafone customers could not access internet services or make mobile phone calls on Monday. Reports to outage monitor Downdetector began around 3pm, and by 3.20pm exceeded 135,000. More than two-thirds of incidents involved home broadband, almost a quarter involved mobile internet, and about 8% were reports of no mobile signal preventing calls. Some customers also could not access the Vodafone app or website. The outage affected many UK cities including London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow and Manchester. Vodafone confirmed a major network issue affecting broadband, 4G and 5G services and said it was working to resolve it.
