A parliamentary review in the UK regarding the Foreign Office's handling of Harry Dunn’s death will focus on the support provided to his family, led by Dame Anne Owers. The review is not set to explore the US government's actions, specifically regarding diplomatic immunity claimed by the American driver, Anne Sacoolas. The Dunn family hopes this investigation will provide lessons for better government support in similar cases, ensuring future families do not face the same challenges they encountered.
I think overall the family are feeling that we are going to leave a legacy for Harry, which is that no family should ever be treated the way this family were by their own government.
Dame Anne is going to look into all of this and make a series of recommendations to David Lammy that should this ever happen again, whether here or abroad, that they will get the support and representation of the government that they need.
