"The ongoing refurbishment of Barons Court tube station has uncovered more problems than expected, and Transport for London ( TfL) has announced that it will have to partially close the station. Refurbishment of the station to repair damaged sections and repaint the platform canopies started earlier this year. Although TfL initially said it did not expect to close the station, that has now changed."
"Therefore, from 19th January 2026, the eastbound platform for services into central London will be closed until early June. As many spectators to the Queens Tennis Tournament use Barons Court, both platforms will temporarily reopen between 6th and 21st June (except 13th and 14th June). Then, from mid-July, the westbound platforms for services to Ealing Broadway, Richmond, Heathrow Airport, Uxbridge and Rayners Lane will shut until the end of 2026."
"District and Piccadilly line trains will still run through the station - but will not stop. Passengers are being advised to use West Kensington or Hammersmith stations instead. It's worth noting that West Kensington station is an easier and quicker walk from Barons Court along the quiet Baron's Court Road rather than going to Hammersmith. More than 5.2 million journeys are made from the station each year."
