"We've exposed those covert operations. We've made clear to him and his submarines that we've watched them every step of the way."
British Defence Minister John Healey announced that a covert operation tracked three Russian submarines in UK waters without finding evidence of damage to undersea infrastructure. The operation involved British warships and military aircraft. Healey emphasized the importance of revealing the operation to call out Russian activity and send a message to President Putin. He stated that any attempt to damage critical infrastructure would not be tolerated and would have serious consequences. The British Defence Ministry reported tracking an Akula-class submarine and two specialist submarines from Russia's Main Directorate of Deep Sea Research.
