UK citizens face fingerprint checks each time they visit EU
Briefly

Starting in November, British travelers to the EU will see significant changes at border checks, requiring individual fingerprinting and photographing. The Port of Dover is enhancing infrastructure to accommodate these checks, but until the biometric verification app is operational, all passengers will need to exit their vehicles during border checks. This initiative aims to automate the recording of visitors' stays in the EU. While Bannister assures that added time in crossing will only be around six minutes, the transition will significantly alter travel practices, given current systems rely on wet stamping.
British citizens traveling to the EU will face additional biometric checks at borders with a new system set to be phased in beginning November.
Under the planned system, all car passengers will be required to exit their vehicles to undergo fingerprinting and photographing for border checks.
