The Congregation is a large mural spanning the entrance above the stairs at Brixton Tube station, combining text and imagery across twenty scenes reflecting influential figures, landmarks and local history. The work references the arrival of the Windrush generation and highlights cultural groups and activists such as SisterMatic and Marcia Rigg. Architectural and social landmarks depicted include the former 121 Centre, Southwyck House and Pearl Alcock's underground bar, alongside local businesses and sites like The Powerful Hand, Healthy Eaters, Electric Avenue market and Windrush Square. The mural will be on display for a year as part of Transport for London's Art on the Underground programme.
