Travel disruption at London Waterloo as weekend engineering works set to begin
"Passengers travelling through London Waterloo are facing disruption this weekend as engineering work takes place. Some lines between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction will be closed this Saturday and Sunday while engineers carry out follow-up work to improvements made over Christmas and New Year. Train services between Waterloo and Chessington South, Dorking, Guildford, Hampton Court, Kingston, Richmond, Shepperton, Weybridge, Windsor & Eton Riverside and Woking will be affected, South Western Railway (SWR) has said."
"Long-distance services between London Waterloo and Alton, Basingstoke, Poole, Portsmouth Harbour, Reading and Salisbury will also be affected. Queenstown Road station will be closed all weekend as work takes place, and customers have been advised to use alternative stations. Engineering works will impact services out of London Waterloo this weekend Some services will not call at Earlsfield and Vauxhall, so travellers are advised to check their journey in advance."

Its important customers plan their journeys carefully and allow extra time to complete them, as some services will be revised with changes to calling patterns. When this maintenance, at one of the busiest parts of our network, is complete, our customers can expect fewer delays and a more reliable railway."
