The "Hogwarts Express" will be at the Epping Ongar Railway through April
"A steam train featuring in the upcoming Harry Potter television series is scheduled to visit the Epping Ongar Railway this spring, including the Easter weekend. The nearly 80-year old steam locomotive 6989 'Wightwick Hall' will star as the Hogwarts Express in the TV series. Repainted into red livery for its television role, the locomotive is expected to operate steam-hauled services along the Epping Ongar Railway throughout April."
"If visiting on a standard day, they can't always guarantee which trains will be available, but the EOR confirms that the "Hogwarts Express" will be in use over Easter and their Spring Steam Gala. Tickets go on sale soon from here. Locomotive 6989 was built at Swindon Works in 1948, working trains in the Gloucester and Hereford areas. The locomotive was withdrawn in June 1964 and sold to the famous Woodham Brothers scrapyard in Barry, having covered over 640,000 miles during its working life."
