Two 17-year-old asylum seekers, Jan Jahanzeb and Israr Niazal, led a 15-year-old girl away from her friends into a den-type area in Leamington Spa, where they pushed her to the ground and raped her. The girl made vigorous protests while being deliberately taken to a secluded area. Both pleaded guilty to rape at Coventry youth court. Jahanzeb received a youth detention term of ten years and eight months and has been served deportation notification papers; Niazal received nine years and ten months. Both were ordered to register as sex offenders and reporting restrictions were lifted.
