The Independent focuses on on-the-ground reporting across reproductive rights, climate change, and Big Tech, and produces documentaries like 'The A Word' about American women fighting for reproductive rights. The publication prioritizes parsing facts from messaging, rejects paywalls, and seeks donations to fund reporters and keep journalism freely accessible across the political spectrum. Christopher Arnold, 40, an assistant head and teacher at Hampton School since 2012, filmed a colleague through a women's shower window in March 2022. He was dismissed, pleaded guilty to observing a person doing a private act for sexual gratification, received 200 hours' unpaid work and five years on the sex offenders' register.
Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
