On Thursday evening, a glitch on the Deliveroo delivery app allowed shoppers to purchase Co-op products at drastically reduced prices, with some items going for free. Customers, including a Lancashire resident who scored £80 worth of goods for just £3.29, took advantage of the error, which included discounts on popular products. Though retailers may not be legally obligated to honor such pricing errors, many customers received their orders. This incident coincides with the Co-op's recent cyber attack, although no connection has been established.
I was surprised the Co-op and Deliveroo honoured and delivered the mispriced items. I will be donating most of the items to my local food bank who desperately need non-perishable food for people in my community.
I was sat on the sofa and thought I'd give it a go before the Co-op ran out of stock. I quickly installed Deliveroo, and to my surprise, I found some items priced at zero.
