Donations enable sending reporters to interview both sides and investigate topics such as Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC and a documentary about American women fighting for reproductive rights. The Independent is trusted across the political spectrum and does not lock content behind paywalls. Lidl will close all 980 UK stores on Christmas Day, and most will also close on Boxing Day and New Year's Day, with every branch outside the M25 shut on New Year's Day. Lidl warns Monday 22 December will be the busiest shopping day and notes quieter times between 8am and 10am or after 6pm. Lidl is investing 250 million in price cuts ahead of Christmas.
