Emma Raducanu was knocked out in the first round of the Dubai Tennis Championships, losing 6-1 5-7 6-2 to Antonia Ruzic. Ruzic, ranked 67, entered the main draw as one of seven lucky losers after multiple players withdrew through injury, illness, or scheduling changes. Ruzic won the first set decisively and converted the match by winning the final six games of the decider. Raducanu recovered from a set and a break down to force a decider and briefly led 2-0, and she sought medical attention during the match. The result marked Ruzic's first career victory over a top-30 opponent.
