Pet dog snatched by Hamas in Oct. 7 attacks miraculously found by Israeli troops in Gaza
Briefly

A dog named Billy, taken by Hamas during the abduction of an Israeli family, was miraculously reunited with owner Rachel Dancyg after 18 months. Billy was rescued by IDF reservist Aviad Shapira in Rafah, Gaza, where he cared for the dog for four days before bringing her back to Israel. Dancyg's family had lost hope of the dog's survival and even adopted another King Charles Spaniel. However, a microchip scan confirmed Billy's identity, leading to an emotional reunion during Passover. The family mourns the loss of Rachel's ex-husband and brother who were kidnapped and killed by Hamas.
They were so convinced that Billy was dead that they had already got the kids another dog of the same breed. 'Now the two dogs will live together with us. It's a miracle from heaven,' he told YNet.
Dancyg's son-in-law expressed that the family was 'in complete shock' that the dog was still alive and was 'overwhelmed with emotion.'
Aviad Shapira, the soldier who rescued Billy, cared for the dog for four days before taking her back to Israel to reunite her with her family.
Dancyg's family had believed Billy was dead after the pooch was kidnapped on the same day they were taken captive by Hamas.
