The government has urged Ofcom to use all available powers up to and including an effective ban against X to address unlawful AI-generated images on the site. Concerns center on X's AI Grok digitally removing clothing from images, with particular alarm over the possibility of sexualised images of children and adults. The Prime Minister condemned the content as disgraceful and unlawful and demanded all options be considered. Ofcom can seek High Court orders to block access to technology and funding for offending companies under the Online Safety Act, especially where serious harm, child risk, or non-compliance exists.
