The mayor announced £1m in pilot funding to establish floating hubs across 17 London areas as part of a strategy to eliminate rough sleeping by 2030. Annual homelessness funding has risen fivefold from just under £9m in 2016 to nearly £45m now. Floating hubs will deliver local, intensive interventions for people experiencing longer-term rough sleeping. Pilots will focus on preventing rough sleeping and securing housing for those with additional needs, including newly granted refugees. The plan includes Crisis at Christmas provision and a severe weather emergency protocol activated when temperatures drop below zero.
