"From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging."
"More than half of UK adults are worried that artificial intelligence (AI) could take their job or change it beyond recognition, according to a new survey. The Trades Union Congress (TUC), which commissioned the poll, said the findings should be a wake-up call for ministers to prepare for rapid technological change. The survey found that 51 per cent of working adults were anxious about AI's impact on their employment."
The Independent funds on-the-ground reporting across issues such as reproductive rights, climate change and Big Tech while keeping content free of paywalls and relying on donations. Donations enable continued sending of journalists to gather perspectives from both sides and keep reporting accessible, paid for by those who can afford it. A Trades Union Congress poll finds 51 per cent of working UK adults anxious that AI could take their job or change it beyond recognition, with 62 per cent of 25- to 34-year-olds especially concerned. Anxiety spans political affiliations and follows employer warnings about AI-driven job cuts.
