Michael William Goodchild's suicide on February 16, 2023, has led to prolonged grief and frustration for his family, particularly his mother, Mary Osullivan. The inquest has been postponed multiple times, now set for August 13, 2025. Compounding their suffering is the loss of one of Michael's phones, which Mary claims contained irreplaceable memories and evidence pertinent to the investigation. Despite reassurances, she states that the phone has been destroyed after a system update, leading to concerns about the impact on the investigation and a widespread feeling of neglect from authorities.
That phone had everything. Now it's like they've erased him. I've never been given anything in writing — no proper explanation, no apology, nothing.
There were supposed to be downloads from both phones, but I was told that one of them was destroyed. I don't think the coroner ever received anything from it.
