Met PC sacked for sexual assault, force says
"PC Thomas' actions were particularly disturbing given his attempts to use the beauty treatment as a cover to commit the offence."
"This must have been an awful experience for the victim, and I commend them for coming forward. We continue to go above and beyond to rid the organisation of those who corrupt our integrity."
"breached the standards of professional behaviour in relation to authority, respect and courtesy, and discreditable conduct"
"due to the evidential threshold not being met"
PC Mark Thomas assaulted a woman on 3 August 2022 during an off-duty beauty treatment. Cambridgeshire Police closed a criminal investigation because the evidential threshold was not met. A misconduct hearing found breaches of professional behaviour relating to authority, respect and courtesy, and discreditable conduct, and dismissed the officer. The officer attempted to use the beauty treatment as a cover to commit the offence. The victim was commended for coming forward. PC Thomas also failed to register the beauty clinic as a business interest. The Metropolitan Police emphasised removing individuals who corrupt organisational integrity.
