"A 42-year-old man from east London, who was arrested on suspicion of kidnap on 1 October, has been bailed while enquiries continue, the Metropolitan Police said. Det Insp Grant Stevens said: "We are keen to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and are concerned for the welfare of the young woman involved, who we have been unable to identify.""
"He added: "Were you in or near Millharbour Road, E17 around the time of the incident and saw anything suspicious, or do you have any CCTV or mobile phone footage that will assist us with our enquiries?""
Police responded after reports that a woman aged about 28 to 32 was forced into a white Ford Transit tow truck by two men on Millharbour Road at the junction of Lighterman's Road in Canary Wharf at about 23:25 BST on 30 September. A 42-year-old man from east London was arrested on suspicion of kidnap on 1 October and has been bailed while enquiries continue. Police are seeking to establish the circumstances and are concerned for the welfare of the unidentified young woman. Police requested anyone with CCTV or mobile footage from the area to come forward.
