"Leicestershire Police said Richile Vangu, 19, of Bowes Road, New Southgate, is accused of nine counts of robbery, four relating to the incident in Bath Lane and five concerning the Harborough matter. Vangu is also charged with one offence of intentional suffocation and appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Saturday. A second 19-year-old, from London, was arrested as part of the investigation and has been released on bail."

Universities and the accommodation manager said they are in contact with police and do not believe suspects are students or residents.
