A pay claim was submitted in March 2025 and the employer did not make an offer until September 2025. Two subsequent offers were rejected, and a final imposed package of £420 consolidated +1% followed by another £150 consolidated was applied. The imposition prompted an industrial action ballot in which 88% voted for strike action and 94% voted for action short of strike, with turnout nearly 90%. Prospect members will meet to decide timings for any industrial action and continue engagement with the London Museum. The museum says it prioritised lower paid staff and reported average increases of 5.5% for lower paid staff and 2.6% for senior staff.
