Llandudno fire: Mountain blaze sends thick smoke billowing above Welsh town

Smoke billowed over Llandudno after a fire started behind Maes Du Golf Club on Cwm Mountain on Tuesday 26 August. North Wales Fire and Rescue deployed multiple appliances: two from Llandudno, two from Colwyn Bay, and one each from Denbigh, Bangor, Prestatyn, Holywell and Rhyl, plus two wildfire units from Abergele. Fire crews attended the scene to tackle the blaze. Members of the public were warned to stay away from the affected area. Llandudno residents, particularly those on Ffordd Maenan and Bodnant, were urged to close windows and doors as a precaution.
