Ms Dexter added: Our commitment to tackling violence against women and girls is unwavering and we would encourage victims to reach out to police or other support agencies to seek help. A 42-year-old man was found guilty of murdering his 45-year-old wife after repeatedly stabbing her with a kitchen knife at their home in Hatfield Close, Lewisham, on April 13. The victim, a mother of three, suffered seven stab wounds, one causing fatal blood loss, and a bloody knife was found on her bedside drawer. The defendant admitted manslaughter but denied murder and told the court he had been jealous and felt controlled by the devil. He walked into Lewisham Police Station to report the stabbing and was arrested. Sentencing is scheduled for December 19.
