Migrants who had been detained under the programme, which launched last August, argued at the High Court on Wednesday that the government was failing trafficking victims. They are also challenging the Home Office's policy to block migrants from contesting decisions made on their modern slavery claims."
Labour's plan to increase deportations to France under the one-in, one-out scheme faces fresh legal challenges from migrants who allege the deal is unlawful. Detainees argue French authorities fail to support trafficking victims and that men in France receive less help than women and children. Home Office lawyers warned any decision could have major consequences.
