James Corden upsets neighbours after paving over front garden of 11 million London mansion for wheelie bins'
"Is there a pressing requirement for an enlarged site for waste bins given this is a single family dwelling?"
"There is no valid justification for the loss of green space in this instance, so the application should be resisted."
"Front gardens being paved over is bad for the environment. It is not good for wildlife in the area, and it reduces the enjoyment of residents who now look at barren areas instead of plants and Lo"
Neighbours accused James Corden of paving over the front garden of his 11.5 million mansion to create more hard surface for storing wheelie bins. Corden submitted a retrospective planning application describing the works as minor landscaping and said paving slabs were repurposed from the back garden. One neighbour said the front previously had a gravel appearance and questioned the need for expanded bin storage at a single-family dwelling. The works removed an 11 square metre planting bed; Corden planted four new trees, but the residents' association said they were too close together and unlikely to survive.
