Holly Willoughby broke scooter rider's neck in London car crash, court hears
"I was travelling at a speed of around 20mph (32kmh) and was slowing down to stop. As I was level with the black Mini Cooper the driver turned right without indicating in order to enter the road. This caused me to be thrown to the ground in the carriageway."
"She was traumatised to find she had caused this accident and the injury"
"This was an unsafe manoeuvre. There was no indicator used. Whether she looked in her mirrors is unclear. The driver didn't see the overtaking moped driver."
Holly Willoughby pleaded guilty to careless driving after failing to indicate a right turn in Barnes on August 28. Her Mini Cooper collided with an overtaking Piaggio scooter, throwing the rider to the ground and causing a fractured neck and a broken toe. Willoughby, charged under her married name Holly Baldwin, went to the rider's aid, offered water and a phone, and told police the crash was her fault. She was absent at sentencing and was ordered to pay £2,444 (including a £1,653 fine), plus costs and a victim surcharge, and was given six penalty points.
