Girl asked friend to 'call my mum' after shooting
"In a statement read out in court, Jace Stockley said Tanesha had shouted "I've been shot" after gunshots were fired towards the group. Prosecutor Philip McGhee read out a statement in court written by Ms Stockley who, along with Tanesha, were among a group of friends standing on Chalgrove Road. "I was about four paces behind Tanesha," Ms Stockley's statement said."
""I heard a car coming down the road, but I didn't see it. I then heard Tanesha shout: 'Jace, duck!', and I heard gunshots." She said her friend then turned to face her and "shouted: 'Jace, I've been shot'". Tanesha fell into her arms as Ms Stockley ran over to her, the statement continued. "She then said, 'Call my mum, call my mum'. She was breathing [heavily], she went very pale.""
Tanesha Melbourne-Blake, 17, was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting in the Northumberland Park area of Tottenham on 2 April 2018. Gunshots were fired towards a group of friends standing on Chalgrove Road as a car drove by. Witness Jace Stockley said she heard a car, then heard gunshots, and that Tanesha shouted she had been shot and asked her to call her mother. Tanesha fell into Stockley's arms, was breathing heavily and went very pale. Stockley estimated the shooting occurred around 21:30 BST and lasted only a couple of seconds. Michael Clarke, 36, denies murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
