Holidaymakers at London Gatwick Airport will experience disruptions due to strikes by ground staff from Redline Oil Services and Red Handling. Refuellers from Redline, represented by Unite, plan to strike starting May 16 after rejecting a wage increase. Simultaneously, over 100 workers from Red Handling, responsible for baggage handling and dispatch services for airlines like Delta and TAP, will strike on select Sundays beginning May 11. This industrial action is expected to affect nearly 50 flights daily, causing potential delay and cancellations during a busy vacation period.
“We will back our members at Red Handling and Redline all the way during these disputes.”
“The way our workers have been treated by Red Handling since returning to work after the first wave of action is nothing short of a disgrace, with union busting.”
