The AA said the cost of wholesale petrol costs has fallen by 5p per litre over the past three weeks and diesel has dropped by 7p per litres. The competition regulator's voluntary reporting scheme shows the official data that fuel retailers have found the average cost of diesel at the pump has fallen by just 0.01 per litre."
"I guess drivers are supposed to feel grateful that pump prices haven't risen further. But if you're looking for somewhere to ease the rate of inflation, look no further than the pump. Fuel pump prices remain at a nine-month high despite falls in wholesale costs. Wholesale petrol fell by 5p per litre over three weeks and diesel fell by 7p per litre. Official reporting shows the average diesel price at the pump has dropped by only 0.01 per litre. AA spokesman Luke Bosdet said drivers receive little relief and suggested pumps are a clear place to ease inflation. Bosdet urged faster, more competitive price movements and welcomed the Government's Fuel Finder, noting small businesses filling vans, trucks and lorries saw almost no price relief.
