Five Metropolitan Police officers, including a detective sergeant, were arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, misconduct in public office and corrupt or improper exercise of police powers. The arrests followed allegations that officers attempted to suppress a complaint by a female officer who said a male senior officer sexually assaulted her at a Christmas party. The allegations reportedly surfaced in June and searches at 11 addresses were carried out by the DPS's Anti-Corruption Command, with mobile phones and computers seized.
