David Carrick, 50, faces trial accused of molesting a girl in the late 1980s and raping a woman during a toxic relationship more than 20 years later. Fresh allegations followed Carrick's guilty pleas in 2022 and 2023 to 71 counts of sexual violence against 12 women spanning 17 years, including 48 rapes, attempted rapes, indecent assault, assaults by penetration, sexual assaults, and three offences of controlling and coercive behaviour. Police interviewed Carrick at Full Sutton prison in November 2023 about the new claims. Carrick denied the woman's account, said the sex was consensual, alleged Hertfordshire Police failed to investigate her alleged assault on him and property damage, and accused the force of corruption and anti-Met rhetoric.
