The Oireachtas finance committee will soon discuss legislation for winding up Nama, leading to the creation of a small resolution unit. Minister Donohoe stated there will be a limited number of personnel for this unit, emphasizing that a chief executive role is unnecessary. Meanwhile, discussions regarding Brendan McDonagh's future are ongoing after he withdrew his name for the Housing Activation Office role due to a high salary concern, sparking transparency issues within Minister Browne's appointment process.
"I expect there will be small number of people whose job it will be to see out the remaining work of Nama ..it will not need a (chief executive)," Donohoe said.
"I'd expect those discussions will happen later in the year," said Minister Donohoe regarding the future of Brendan McDonagh.
"It is my expectation that Brendan McDonagh will not be in that small unit," Mr Donohoe continued.
"Housing Minister James Browne is adamant he will press on with the appointment of a chief executive at the Housing Activation Office," despite McDonagh's withdrawal.
