
"RideLondon, one of the world's largest massparticipation cycling events, has been placed on "indefinite pause" following operational and financial reviews of its future, event organiser London Marathon Events has said. Launched in 2013 as part of the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic Games, the event has seen 500,000 people take part and it has raised over 85m for charity."
"They added that future work will focus on widening access to cycling and supporting active travel in London and beyond. The most recent, and tenth edition took place in May 2024. Originally run with Surrey County Council, RideLondon was held annually until 2019. It was suspended in 2020 and 2021 during the Covid pandemic before returning in 2022 in partnership with Essex County Council."
