Between 250 and 300 people protested at the Sea Life London Aquarium in Westminster calling for the release of 15 gentoo penguins held in a basement. Organisers included Freedom For Animals with support from Born Free and The Express. Campaigners said the penguins have endured 14 years in a basement with a pool only 1.8–2.1m deep and lacking sunlight and fresh air.
