A yellow weather warning covers parts of southern and western UK with heavy rain expected overnight into Friday. Flash flooding is possible across East England, South East, South West, London and Wales between 10pm Thursday and 12pm Friday. Rainfall totals of 50–70 mm may occur within a few hours in some locations, increasing flood risk. A deep low-pressure system will develop close to the UK over the weekend and bring wet, windy conditions. Gusts in excess of 50mph are likely in exposed coastal and high ground areas, with additional rainfall of 10–20mm across many regions.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning as parts of the UK is to be hit with a 14-hour rain bomb. There is a warning in place for flash flooding as heavy rain will hit parts of East England, South East, South West, London and Wales will be affected between 10pm on Thursday until 12pm on Friday. Within hours between 50 and 70 mm of rainfall is possible that could see flooding in some areas, the Met Office has warned.
A deep area of low pressure will develop close to the UK on Saturday and track northeast over the weekend, bringing wet and windy weather for many. While the exact track and depth of the system is still a little uncertain, at present it looks likely that we'll see gusts in excess of 50mph in some areas during Saturday and Sunday, especially across coasts, headlands and high ground.
