In Queensland's Hervey Bay, more than 230mm (9 inches) of rain was recorded in just six hours on Sunday morning, leading to flash flooding in homes and businesses.
As a Category 2 tropical cyclone, Alfred battered a 400km stretch of coastline, causing significant disruptions and leaving 316,540 people without power in southeastern Queensland.
