Over 28,000 Aldi hourly paid store colleagues across the UK will receive a pay rise from 1 September. Base hourly pay will increase to £13.02, rising to £13.95 for employees with longer service. London hourly pay will increase from £14.05 to £14.35, with longer-serving staff reaching £14.66. The increase follows an earlier move that raised Store Assistants from £12.75 to £13.00. The change affects store employees across the UK and is presented as a higher-than-planned increase under the pledge to maintain market-leading pay and reward colleagues for their contribution.
From Monday 1st September, over 28,000 Aldi hourly paid store colleagues across the UK will receive a bigger than expected pay rise as the supermarket reinforces its pledge to never be beaten on pay. In July, Aldi said it was increasing pay for Store Assistants from £12.75 an hour to £13.00 from 1st September, to become the first supermarket to offer this minimum rate. It has now made a further increase to £13.02 an hour to maintain its position as sector leader. The rate increases to £13.95 with length of service.
Aldi has announced that over 28,000 workers will receive another pay rise for the second time in two months. They said on Friday that staff will be paid £13.02 from 1 September and depending on length of service some workers could receive £13.95. Those living in London will see their pay rise from £14.05 to £14.35 per hour and depending on the length of service some will be paid £14.66 an hour.
Our colleagues are at the heart of our success, and we're committed to ensuring they are fully rewarded for the outstanding work they do. This higher than planned pay rise is part of our promise to never be beaten on pay.
