Carla Klein from Sunnyvale recently explored Argentina and Antarctica, starting her journey in Buenos Aires. She visited Iguazú Falls and enjoyed a cruise to the Antarctic Peninsula. A highlight was crossing the polar circle and experiencing the 'Polar Plunge'—though she opted out, many others participated. Klein also visited Port Lockroy, a former British base, now a museum and operational post office. Despite the chilly temperatures, she noted the provided gear and recommended booking cruises early, as they fill quickly. Overall, she described the trip as an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
"One special feature of our itinerary was that we crossed the polar circle. Our cruise included the 'Polar Plunge,' an opportunity to dive into the Antarctic waters. I passed on it, but a majority of people on the cruise did it."
"The base is no longer active, but it is now a small museum and the most southerly operational post office in the world. It was an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime trip!"
