As summer approaches, travel experts are highlighting Croatia, particularly Korčula, as a top vacation spot. Tourism is up significantly, with 20 million visitors in 2023. Korčula stands out for its stunning architecture, cultural experiences, and beautiful beaches, making it increasingly popular. It boasts over 2,700 hours of sunshine annually and is recognized as the potential birthplace of explorer Marco Polo. The island's appeal is further enhanced by its thriving wine scene and absence of large crowds, attracting visitors seeking a unique summer getaway.
"We've seen an 800 percent increase in demand for stays in Croatia so far this year," Edward Frampton-Fell shared with Travel + Leisure. While the Split Riviera, Dubrovnik, and Hvar remain top picks, Frampton-Fell noted that surprising destinations like Korčula are now firmly in the spotlight.
Darijo Saric, CEO of VIP Holiday Booker, agreed, noting that "Korčula is definitely our top pick for summer 2025." The island receives more than 2,700 hours of sun a year, making it ideal for a warm weather break.
