The booking company found that this spring break, flight searches to Hilo are up 60 percent and that airfare is down 26 percent, when compared to last year. An average, roundtrip economy flight over spring break is $503, according to Kayak."

"The town of Hilo is home to Wailuku River State Park, which is famous for the rainbows that are created from the mist of Waianuenue waterfalls (Rainbow Falls) and the Boiling Pots lava rock pools set along the river. To the south of town is Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, an ever-evolving landscape of rainforest and volcanic activity. The park is home to two of the world's most active volcanoes, Kīlauea and Mauna Loa."
