San Francisco led U.S. solo travel growth with a 145 percent surge in single-person hotel bookings in 2025, while Los Angeles and San Diego each saw about a 60 percent increase. Dallas and Washington, D.C. experienced 55 percent growth in solo bookings. Boston, Miami Beach, and New York City rounded out the top domestic hotspots. Internationally, CancĂșn recorded a 105 percent rise in solo lodging bookings; Puerto Morelos and Dublin each logged 90 percent increases, and Punta Cana and London completed the top five. Expedia measured one-person hotel searches between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31 year-over-year to identify these trends.
