'So disappointed': Disneyland ends major hotel perk
"Previously, guests staying at the Disneyland Hotel, Grand Californian Hotel or Pixar Place could enter a park 30 minutes early, offering a way to experience Disneyland's most popular attractions with little or no wait before the crowds descended when the park officially opened. It was one of the most beloved aspects of staying on property, and a justification to many to pay the resort's premium hotel rates when there are so many nearby hotels that are significantly less expensive."
"Instead, Disneyland now offers resort guests one entry into a Lightning Lane queue per stay - not per day. Eligible attractions are included in Lightning Lane Multi Pass, the paid line-skipping service that costs upwards of $30 per person per day. Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions like Radiator Springs Racers, which are a separate cost per ride per person, are not eligible under the guest perk."
"Early admission had suffered large cutbacks in past years. Before Disneyland's pandemic closure, guests staying in Disneyland Resort hotels could enter the parks an hour before day guests. After the parks reopened in 2021, the company scaled back early entry to just 30 minutes. In 2024, it further reduced the benefit, limiting early entry to just one park per day, offered on alternating days."
As of Jan. 5, early entry into the parks was eliminated at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Previously, on-site hotel guests could enter a park 30 minutes early to access popular attractions before official opening crowds. The resort replaced that perk with a single Lightning Lane queue entry per stay rather than per day. Eligible attractions are included in Lightning Lane Multi Pass, a paid service that can cost upwards of $30 per person per day; Lightning Lane Single Pass attractions are excluded. Early entry benefits had been reduced progressively since the pandemic-era closure, from one hour to 30 minutes to alternating-day limits.
