The family vacationed in Bora Bora, initially thrilled by the beauty of their surroundings. However, after three days, they felt limited by the resort's isolation and lack of activities. They craved more options for dining, exploration, and social interactions than the overwater bungalow offered. They realized the remote destination didn't provide the energetic atmosphere they desired. Consequently, they decided to leave early for Los Angeles, which felt like the best decision for maintaining family enjoyment and engagement during their time off.
At first, our family's trip to Bora Bora felt like the ultimate tropical escape - there's nothing quite like relaxing in a beautiful overwater bungalow above crystal-clear water at a resort in French Polynesia.
Our group of two adults and two teens found ourselves craving more - more restaurants, activities, people, and nearby places to explore.
It took multiple flights, a layover in Tahiti, and a boat ride to get to our resort. Although it was gorgeous, it was also off the mainland.
If we wanted to experience something new, like scuba-diving or riding a boat, we had to book a pricey excursion in advance.
