Oceania Cruises Is Becoming an Adults-only Line
"This is something that was initiated and driven by our guests,"
"we neither encouraged nor discouraged"
"This is a transition, not a hard stop,"
"We have the luxury of not having to be all things to all people,"
Oceania Cruises will require all new bookings to be age 18 or older beginning January 7, 2026. The line previously accommodated children as young as six months on certain sailings. The policy change was initiated by guest feedback and aligns with the brand's onboard atmosphere aimed at travelers aged 55 and up. Existing bookings that include passengers under 18 will be honored and those children remain welcome aboard. The company frames the change as a transition rather than an immediate ban. The 1,390-passenger Oceania Sonata will debut child-free when it begins sailing in August 2027, with sales opening later this month.
