Amira by Luxury Boltholes in Brighton occupies a vast A-shaped building with floor-to-ceiling glass offering marina views. Guests choose from six en suites, each uniquely named and featuring luxe touches like Nespresso machines and Dyson fans; some suites offer baths overlooking the marina, his-and-hers sinks, balconies, mini fridges, and open marble bathrooms. Interiors combine plush sofas, eclectic furnishings, greenery, long wooden tables, and a marble island that encourages socializing around sea-facing glass. Mornings offer serene coffee-watching of the marina. Concierge services enhanced the stay with arranged spa treatments and thoughtful arrival touches.
For anyone who grew up in London in the '90s, seaside school trips to Brighton were a rite of passage. Memories of feeding paper tokens into arcade games, hunting for a ruler with my name on it, and nibbling on Brighton rock (a stick of hard, striped candy) while hobbling over the stony beach flood my mind each time I visit.
With a choice of six en suites, each beautifully designed with homey interiors and their own charismatic names, choosing one wasn't easy. The Riviera suite has a bath overlooking the marina, the Zen Suite has his and hers sinks, and the Le Manche Suite has a balcony, mini fridge, and wraparound open marble bathroom. I took the latter. Each room was fully equipped with Nespresso machines and Dyson fans for warmer days-touches that made it feel more like an indulgent hotel stay than an Airbnb.
