Celebrity Cruises Cancels All Stops in This Caribbean Destination Through 2026, Citing Safety Concerns
""To provide you with a better experience, we have made the decision to cancel our visit to Labadee, Haiti," the cruise line wrote on one updated itinerary for a February 2026 sailing on the Celebrity Apex. That stop will instead be replaced with a visit to Turks and Caicos. Other cruises will replace the stop with visits to Grand Cayman or Cozumel in Mexico."
"Celebrity Cruises has communicated the changes with passengers set to board the upcoming sailings. A full listing of itinerary updates is available on Celebrity's website. Before the cancellation, Celebrity Cruises offered 28 different shore excursions in Labadee ranging from snorkeling to coastal cruises, fishing, ziplining, and more. Labadee was a common stop on many of Celebrity's cruises that also stopped in Key West and in the Bahamas, including trips that stopped at Royal Caribbean's private island, Perfect Day At CocoCay."
Celebrity Cruises will skip Labadee, Haiti on 11 itineraries across 2025 and 2026, mainly affecting sailings of the Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Beyond. Affected stops will be replaced with visits to Turks and Caicos, Grand Cayman, or Cozumel. Passengers booked on the updated sailings have been notified, and a full listing is available on Celebrity’s website. Labadee previously offered 28 shore excursions including snorkeling, coastal cruises, fishing, and ziplining. Labadee is a private destination owned by Royal Caribbean, accessible only by ship. The United States Department of State currently has a Level Four advisory for Haiti, warning Americans not to travel due to widespread violent crime and a state of emergency.
