Alaska Airlines will expand its international routes, starting with two new destinations: London and Reykjavik, set for 2026. In addition, there will be service to Rome commencing in spring 2024. The airline will also enhance its presence in Asia with flights to Tokyo and Seoul. Alaska Airlines aims to operate at least 12 intercontinental destinations by 2030, reflecting a strategic shift towards a stronger international market presence. This change is in line with broader trends in the airline industry regarding long-haul flights.
"We are seizing this moment to redefine the international experience and level up," the airline's CEO, Ben Minicucci, said in a statement. "And we're doing it with the same relentless focus on safety, care and performance that's always defined us."
Alaska Airlines plans to begin flights to both Tokyo and Seoul from Seattle in the spring of 2026, along with service to Rome starting next spring.
